Sculpteur et son modèle devant une fenêtre, 1933

Hidden Gallery Stand: 402

The Vollard Suite, created by Picasso from 1930-1937, is a significant collection of 100 etchings named after art dealer Ambroise Vollard, who commissioned them. The suite reflects Picasso's emotional state and artistic evolution during a turbulent period marked by personal and political upheaval. It features themes of love, mythology, and the artist's relationship with his muse, Marie-Thérèse Walter. Completed in 1937, the prints were published posthumously after Vollard's death in 1939.
