“I Am Not Alone” is an abstract landscape born from my experience of walking alone in the mountains—yet never truly feeling alone. This work explores the idea that solitude in nature is not loneliness, but a visceral connection to one's surroundings. This painting developed quite intuitively as I worked with my memories of being in not just one but many landscapes that I have always loved from my childhood up to now. I used collage and bold as well delicate marks using pastels, charcoal, pencils to express forms as well as open spaces.
