Before the Edge of Wilderness evolved organically after a long period away from the studio, driven by Paula’s need to capture emerging ideas. Vast skies dominate the composition, drawing the viewer into the landscape and evoking the sensation of standing on the moors, watching sunlight glint on clouds above the expansive terrain. Gold leaf catches and reflects the light, enhancing the atmosphere and emphasising the ever-shifting interplay between sky and land.
