Created on a residency on the Marchmont Estate in the Scottish Borders, and using materials foraged there. The circles evoke the rings of a tree and the cycle of life. My use of symmetry also represents the search for harmony, trying to gently impose human order on the wildness of nature – not to control it, but to honour it.

As with all my works the intention is to invite reflection on our relationship with the natural world: how beauty can emerge from small, overlooked things, and how continuity depends on respecting the balance between human activity and ecological cycles.
