Felix 17148

The Point Paper Art Company Stand: 513

Our Original painting was drawn up for weaver Felix Vanoutryve of Roubaix. The design was commisioned from an unknown design studio. At the time, in 1927 that the production number for the fabric interpretation of this artwork was produced, the Vanouytryve Mill used local studios in Roubaix and Lille but did outsource from design studios in Paris. Often a fabric client sourced or drew the artwork and presented it to the weavers so they would apply the design to a fabric construction. An interesting art history mystery, yet a fabulous celebration of skills in the art and technical abilities of weaving technicians at the time.
