In this painting I wanted to capture the simple expanse of the landscape, with oak trees fading into the hazy distance. Using oil paint in a looser, quicker approach than my usual process, I love the freshness and simplicity in this work.

The cradled wood panel has deep sides which are hand-painted and varnished in dark charcoal paint, ready to hang or place directly on a shelf.
