Inspired by contemplative walks through the Lake District, Land and Sky began as a fleeting impression in watercolour—a quick sketch capturing the shifting moods of the landscape. Back in the studio, this study evolved into an oil painting that merges memory with imagination.

The land is rendered in layered hues of green and soft purples, grounding the composition with a sense of weight and texture. In contrast, the sky ascends from the earth in luminous whites, with brushstrokes that lift and expand into a realm of light. The result is an ethereal interplay between the grounded and the celestial.
