Tori Tipton Stand: 634

My current work explores the idea of slow, incremental change through a series of paintings made on reclaimed metal sheets. Salvaged from a derelict farm building, these surfaces already bear the marks of time, holding a quiet history of use and exposure.

Rather than concealing these traces, I work in response to them, applying translucent layers of oil paint that allow what lies beneath to remain partly visible. Each painting exists as part of an ongoing transformation, reflecting how surfaces, places, and memory shift gradually through repetition, erosion and the passage of time.
