Serena Pugh's latest oil painting, Beyond the Dark Braes, explores the dramatic beauty of the Scottish landscape in the fading light of day.

Measuring 36 × 12 inches, this panoramic work captures a rugged landscape beneath a brooding, atmospheric sky, with flashes of golden light illuminating the distant hills and winding water.

Using expressive brushwork, layered textures and a rich, earthy palette, Serena creates a striking contrast between the darkness of the foreground and the warmth of the distant horizon.

Framed in a contemporary black wooden tray frame, Beyond the Dark Braes will be among the works presented by Serena at Manchester Art Fair 2026.
