Mary Fedden jug was the starting point for this painting. I loved the contrast between its bold black pattern and the softness of the flowers. Working with a limited palette of wintry whites, gentle greys and pale pink, I enjoyed discovering how much variety there could be within so few colours, letting loose lines and textured paint give the flowers their shape.
