The Big Splash is an oil painting, 60cms square. I sat for a very long time just staring at water tumbling over a stream in the North West of Scotland. I wanted to capture the dynamic force of water and gravity. After many watercolour sketches of the movement I painted the final version in my studio in oils. I hope that it captures the energy of moving water, its unpredictability and its dynamism.
