Under a heavy sky is an atmospheric painting in soft blue-greys, capturing the weight of heavy clouds as they settle over the moorland. Muted tones echo across the landscape, while scratched-back marks reveal underlying layers of soft blue, tracing pathways through the land. Subtle touches of bronze powder and gold leaf catch the light, illuminating the golden grasses scattered across this stark, windswept terrain.

Built up through layers of oil paint, the richly textured surface captures the quiet drama of the northern moorland, where fleeting glimpses of light emerge beneath an expansive sky. There is a stillness to the painting, yet a sense of movement and depth that draws you into the landscape and its ever-changing moods.
