Creating Contemporary Landscape
A sense of place.
Join Tom Voyce, winner of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2017, for a focused introduction to contemporary landscape painting. Inspired by Tom's acclaimed A Sense of Place course at Bullclough Art School, this taster explores how artists can respond personally to their surroundings and create paintings that convey character, atmosphere and memory rather than simply reproducing a view.
A genuine art-school experience
The dedicated training room will be fully prepared with primed boards, acrylic paints, brushes, landscape references and individual workspaces. Tom will discuss his work, demonstrate compositional ideas and guide participants in creating one expressive landscape study.

Each participant will create one contemporary acrylic landscape study on a prepared board. The aim is to respond quickly to a place and transform that response into colour, shape and paint.
