Andrew Kinmont is a landscape painter based near Chester, whose work explores the emotional and atmospheric qualities of the natural world. Inspired by a childhood spent exploring the African landscape and the wild scenery of Cheshire and North Wales, his paintings reflect a deep connection with nature.

Working from sketches, photographs and memories gathered on location, Andrew experiments with techniques that move between representation and abstraction, capturing not only the appearance of a place but the feelings it evokes.

A graduate of the University of Wales, he is an elected member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and regularly exhibits with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
