Anna Thomas

Manchester Academy of Fine Arts Stand: 302
Anna Thomas is a contemporary painter whose vibrant, poetic work explores the British landscape through memory, imagination and storytelling. Working in acrylic, oil and mixed media, she begins with loose sketches and writing, capturing the atmosphere and spirit of a place.

Her intuitive process involves layering and scratching into paint, allowing imagery to emerge organically. Animals, birds and imagined creatures frequently inhabit her landscapes, evoking the life, history and stories embedded within them.

Anna holds an MA in Ceramics from Cardiff University. Her work features in public and private collections, including the State Art Collection in Dublin and Buxton Museum and Art Gallery, where she received the Derbyshire Trophy.
