Stand: 302
Gerry Halpin MBE is a landscape painter whose work explores the world from an aerial perspective. Drawing inspiration from journeys in light aircraft and commercial flights, he captures fleeting views through rapid sketches, reducing roads, buildings and natural features to expressive lines and abstract forms.
Particularly interested in the meeting of land and sea, Gerry reconstructs these landscapes using acrylic paint, textured plaster and gold leaf to evoke shifting light, movement and atmosphere.
Awarded an MBE for services to charity and the arts, he has exhibited widely across the North West and at London's Mall Galleries with the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
