Harry Brioche was born in the Seychelles in 1965 to Creole and American parents. The idyllic freedom and sense of adventure offered by island life during his childhood were abruptly interrupted when his family was forced to flee the island due to the 1977 Coup d'état. In 1980, Harry moved to England with his parents and sister, where he embraced his new home and culture. He now resides contentedly in Cheshire with his wife and two sons.

Though Harry briefly attended Maidstone College of Art, he considers himself a self-taught artist.
