Johannes Nielsen
Johannes Nielsen, born in 1979 in Falkenberg, Sweden, is a distinguished sculptor renowned for his evocative bronze works that explore the human form and abstract concepts. He began his formal art education in 2001 at Lund's Art School in Sweden. In 2003, he moved to Dublin to assist acclaimed sculptor Patrick O’Reilly, refining his sculptural techniques.
Since 2007, Nielsen has resided in Beijing, China, with his wife and children. His sculptures have been exhibited across Europe, the United States, and Asia, and are part of public and private collections in cities such as London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, and Milan.
Nielsen's artistic approach often involves 3D scanning his own body to create virtual models, which are then cast in bronze. This method allows him to delve into themes of connection, transformation, and the essence of human experience, bridging traditional and contemporary aesthetics.
