Lorraine Rudyard
Manchester Academy of Fine Arts
Stand: 302
Lorraine Rudyard is a Manchester-born mixed-media sculptor whose colourful, often humorous story boxes celebrate everyday life, childhood memories and Northern characters. Working with wire, papier-mâché, recycled materials and found objects, she creates intricate three-dimensional scenes inspired by personal recollections, vintage photographs, literature and folklore.
Her intuitive approach combines storytelling with a fascination for preserving the past, giving discarded materials and forgotten objects new life.
A self-taught artist, Lorraine has exhibited widely, including at HOME Manchester and the Royal Cambrian Academy. She also develops creative workshops for schools and community groups, with commissioned work on permanent display at Manchester Central Library.
