Clare Chinnery is a painter living and working in Merseyside. Her work explores abstraction through a rich interplay of light, shape and form, drawing inspiration from Dutch vanitas still life painting and reinterpreting it through the lens of contemporary culture.
References to music, film, and literature are woven into her compositions, adding narrative, depth and emotional resonance.
Clare studied Fine Art Painting at Liverpool John Moores University, where she began developing her distinctive abstract style, initially focused on landscape. Her work has since evolved into immersive, gestural paintings that bridge historical and modern visual languages.
Clare’s paintings have been exhibited internationally, and are held in private collections across China, the USA, New Zealand, and the UK.
