Will Budgett (b. 1993, Oxfordshire, UK) is a British sculptor whose practice explores the relationship between material, light, and perception. Working at the intersection of sculpture and illumination, his work traverses boundaries between presence and absence. Beginning with shadow rather than fixed form, Budgett allows light to guide the physical construction of each piece. Light acts as a co-author, with the work only fully realised at the moment of illumination.
Drawing on a background in design and advertising, Budgett brings a refined sensitivity to composition, rhythm, and audience experience. His work invites moments of quiet recognition, encouraging viewers to reflect on how perception shifts with light and form.
Will Budgett’s work has been exhibited at galleries and outdoor installations across the globe. Recently headlining at the Bristol Light Festival, at the Florence Biennale XV, where he received the Lorenzo il Magnifico Prize for Sculpture, as well as exhibiting alongside British ballet establishments, like Birmingham Royal Ballet, Northern Ballet & Royal Ballet School.
