Anthony D Padgett is an award winning sculptor who has worked with cutting edge technology and different faith traditions - including the faiths of "Art".
His postmodern religious art 2003 was an attempt to make sense of what it is to have faith in the 21st century.
He is engaged with art workers rights, artificial intelligence, peace activism and how we value the past and each other.
He has an MA in the Theory of Contemporary Art and is currently researching for an MPhil in Art & Religion at the University of Lancashire.

Biography

Anthony D Padgett is an award winning sculptor researching an MPhil in Art and Religion and has an MA in Contemporary Art and Performance.

He has worked in sculpture, painting, performance, dance, film and conservation for over 30 years. 

His public artworks are sited internationally and held in museum, gallery and library collections. 

He worked restoring historic buildings with the British School of Archaeology in Jerusalem and with Israeli and Palestinian governments. 

His award winning computer manufactured sculpture is sited in Leighton Hall, Carnforth. 

His internationally sited sculptures include representations of Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Kurt Schwitters. 

He is Lancashire Representative of the Artists Union England and campaigns for workers’ rights (including his 2005-7 Tribunal case against Tate Galleries). 

His “Praying Shell” sculpture overlooks where 23 Chinese workers who died in Morecambe Bay in 2004.
