Ron Ashtiani is a British oil painter whose work is shaped by over three decades in film, television, and interactive media. Prior to focusing on fine art, he served as an artist, animator, and art director on major projects including Marvel films, over thirty video games, J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore, and various TV productions.

He founded the visual design studio Atomhawk, where he was Creative Director for ten years, and is the author of three books on art direction. These experiences continue to inform his painterly approach to narrative, composition, and atmosphere.

Now based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Ron’s paintings fuse real and imagined landscapes, drawing on the visual language of science fiction and fantasy. His work explores the emotive power of light, colour, and mood, inviting viewers into richly atmospheric and cinematic worlds.
