Art has always been Kay’s passion, “my thrill is bringing into this world a piece of my imagination for others to share!”
As a child she created animals, angels and monsters from the detritus found around her father’s wood yard and subsequently has worked in many different mediums, but finds she prefers clay where she can add and subtract. She finds clay is very forgiving!
Kay always finds the creative process thrilling, never being quite sure how each sculpture will evolve and how it will emerge from the kiln.
Of all the art forms sculpture is her driving force. “I am constantly inspired by the human head, a collection of features we mostly all share but which can be arranged in infinite variety. I enjoy portraiture, the challenge of achieving a likeness and the more free-flowing creation of people and animals from my inner self.”
