Lindsey Tyson is a multi-award-winning, Scarborough-based visual artist creating intuitive, material-led abstract paintings and sculptural work. With a background in textile design, she has a particular fascination with surface, texture and the tactile qualities of materials.

Inspired by landscape, worn surfaces and the quiet traces of time, she works with encaustic wax, plaster, pigments and mixed media, allowing experimentation and chance to shape the outcome.

Her practice has recently expanded into three dimensions with Wildscapes, a collection of landscape-inspired sculptural forms. Across her work, rich surfaces and unexpected details invite closer exploration, revealing more the longer you look.
