KC Crompton

Through the medium of oil, collage and graphite, KC explores the female perspective through myth, archetype and everyday stories. Inspired by cave art and naive painting styles, her art is a soulful and intuitive process.
Her current series explores the push - pull of the mother - child relationship. They speak to the joy, tenderness and tension in the relationship. Using aspects of the Great Mother archetype, associated with earth, stone, cave, stability, fertility and creation, they are emotional, and symbolic expressions, hovering between abstraction and figuration.
Forms hang expectantly in the space of the canvas. Softness of colour and tone are held by energetic, darker areas of line or shape. Neutral space containing the forms and shapes hold the unknown, the yet to unfold, the chapters to be written. Messages, writings, doodles, visible or obscured are embedded in the works.
KC has exhibited with Art Club, Marbella, Spain, 2023, The Final Show, CAA Online Exhibition curated by Kirsty Ogg, 2024. She will be exhibiting at Art Surrey, Epsom, A Sense of Place Exhibition, The Minoires, and Manchester Art Fair in 2025. She is Cofounder of BlueHouse artspace, Esher UK and is an art mentor with Creative Shift, online coaching programme.
