Anna Maiko
)
In 1992, amidst the serene landscapes of a small town in eastern Ukraine, Anna began her journey as an artist. Fuelled by a passion for painting, she honed her skills at a local fine art school, where she delved into various painting techniques.
Her artistic journey led her across continents, from California's Foothill College to the Academy of Traditional Art in Kyiv. Along the way, Anna cultivated her unique style, capturing the essence of everyday beauty with every brushstroke. In 2022, amidst the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Anna sought refuge in her art, relocating from Kyiv to Spain. Here, in her studio in Valencia, she found solace and sanctuary, creating paintings that serve as an oasis of tranquillity in a chaotic world.
During the last couple of years, my paintings have served as a personal sanctuary where I find solace and respite. They allow me to share the often-overlooked beauty of the everyday.
Inside my studio, I escape from the chaos and violence that has gripped the world. My artworks provide a means to channel kindness and craft beauty, offering a small space within the frenzy of our times.
These paintings convey not only my artistic vision but also the profound emotions that fuel my creative spirit.
My mission is to share these works with others, inviting them to join me in this journey of finding solace in art and discovering the hidden splendour in the ordinary.
Through my paintings, I hope to inspire a sense of serenity and appreciation for the world around us and to remind people that even amidst chaos, beauty can be found and shared.
