Stand: 302
Norman Long is a Preston-born portrait and figurative painter whose work captures the quiet narratives of everyday life. Best known for his evocative depictions of people in cafés and urban settings, his paintings suggest stories unfolding without revealing their conclusions, inviting viewers to bring their own interpretations.
A Fine Art graduate of Newcastle University, Norman also undertook postgraduate study at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His portraits have featured in the BP Portrait Award and Royal Society of Portrait Painters exhibitions, and he received the de László Award for his portrait of his father, Walter Long.
Alongside his figurative work, Norman explores cityscapes and still life.
