Peter Holt is a Leeds-based painter whose work encompasses portraiture, figurative studies, landscape and still life. Working predominantly in oils, he combines plein air painting, direct observation and studio practice, bringing expressive handling of materials and bold compositions to traditional subjects.

Originally from Lancashire, Peter studied at Liverpool School of Art before pursuing a career in commercial illustration and art education. He now concentrates on his fine art practice alongside occasional teaching and workshops.

His work has been exhibited at the Mall Galleries, National Portrait Gallery and Ferens Art Gallery, and is held in private collections internationally and in the permanent Ruth Borchard Collection.
