Richard Blunt

Millesime Art Stand: 412

THE STORY
Born in the West Midlands, Richard Blunt was always drawn to creativity, though early advice warned he'd "never make money as an artist." After studying design at Worcester College of Art, he drifted into music and the party scene, losing direction. Hitting rock bottom became a turning point: he rebuilt his life, pursued music for a decade, and moved to Cardiff to complete a degree in Popular Music. Ironically, it was during these studies that he rediscovered painting, instantly reconnecting with his true passion. Channeling his experiences into art, Richard found clarity, purpose, and the drive to succeed.

THE INSPIRATION
Richard's figurative works explore love, ambition, and aspiration. His characters are caught mid-journey, their body language radiating confidence, independence, and achievement. Believing in the power of shaping one's destiny," his paintings often serve as manifestations or vision boards, affirming not only his own aspirations but also those of his collectors.

THE APPROACH
Richard's compositions are carefully balanced, emotive, and atmospheric. Drawing on neoclassical and renaissance influences, he employs chiaroscuro, the dramatic interplay of light and shadow to infuse each canvas with depth, energy, and mood. Today, his work is collected worldwide, from original paintings to limited editions and private commissions.
