Education & Artistic Evolution
George graduated from Auchi Polytechnic in 1987 with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Painting and General Arts. Over the decades, his career has been propelled by a spirit of consistent experimentation, shaping a dynamic and richly textured style that continues to evolve.
Artistic Vision & Style
From childhood, George has explored themes of family ties, beauty, and sociopolitical issues, weaving them into visual narratives that invite reflection. His practice moves fluidly between figuration and abstraction, characterised by bold, vibrant colour palettes and strong Cubist influences. Executed primarily in oils and acrylics, his works employ swift, expressive brushstrokes that give his canvases freshness, immediacy, and emotional intensity. While often minimalist in execution, they carry layered meaning and cultural resonance.
Art as Catalyst
At the core of George’s practice is a belief in the transformative power of art. He sees painting not only as an aesthetic pursuit but also as a catalyst for dialogue and social change—confronting political realities, celebrating cultural identity, and offering new ways of seeing.
Global Recognition
As an established figure in Nigeria’s contemporary art scene, George is also a proud member of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA). His works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions internationally and continue to gain recognition in the art market.
