Julia Milns
Julia Milns is a multi-disciplinary artist working at AWOL studios in Hope Mill, in Ancoats. Her works invoke dialogue about the protection of the earth’s precious natural resources. She captures the transformation evident in her local habitats, such as the re-wilding of available spaces.
She has also participated in other local regenerative projects that all feed into the theme of her works, including Manchester City of Trees projects planting bulbs and clearing invasive areas.
Julia has recently had a solo exhibition at Waterside Arts and has participated in many group exhibitions, including the Trinity Buoy Wharf 2024 Drawing Prize exhibition.
She is currently developing a new series of works which delve deeper into the interconnections and natural processes which shape our personal and shared habitat, debating future and historical global challenges to address the shift that exists and seems to define our contemporary era.
