Nicola Hebson

The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery Stand: 203

Having grown up in Great Harwood, Lancashire, Hebson has been an artist for as long as she remembers, claiming it’s all she’s ever known. This passion for art led her to study Fine Art at Lancaster University; it was here that she exhibited in her first exhibition at A Lovely Art Gallery.

Hebson’s work has been hit with the press, with national coverage on the BBC, Daily Mail, This Morning and an appearance on The History Channel programme ‘No Country for Old Men.’ Her exhibitions to date include: A Lovely Art Exhibition, Blackburn; PM+M, Blackburn; UCBC Degree Show 2011, Blackburn; Oddest, Manchester and most recently the P-oint Magazine Art and Poetry joint exhibition, London.

Hebson’s artwork uses taxidermy and paintings to represent key moments in her life –‘I have been doing the same body of work throughout my life; it is just a reflection of where I am at that point in my life and my journey, kind of seamless really, with no beginning and no end.’
