Lily Rose
Houses and empty landscapes are common themes in Lily’s work, alongside overlooked themes of nature. Birds like pigeons and crows, or insects like bees and beetles will often make appearances.
Lily’s influences stem back to childhood, where she’d grown up around terraced houses and backstreets. She recalls going down to the river with the dog to scour the rocks for woodlice and millipedes, and making sure she’s home before the street lights came on. All the way to studying at Edinburgh College of Art where her walks back to her flat were usually wet and dark, yet she was still surrounded by the warmth of lit windows and cobbled streets.
In 2025, Lily had her debut solo exhibition, Home Is Where the Heart Is, at Prism Contemporary in Blackburn, where she also debuted her first sculptural piece, Harsh Landing. Since then, she has moved her practice to AWOL Studios in Manchester, where she continues to develop her work.
Her work is also currently included in an exhibition at The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery in Rawtenstall, on view until 13 December 2026.
