Lucy Bevin

Salad Stand: 120

Lucy Bevin is a graduate of Liverpool Collage of Art and UCA Farnham. In addition to her ongoing practice she has a background in Film and Television Production Design.

The scale model and the use of different scale has become integral to the realisation of Bevin’s practice. Bevin’s sculptural work uses scale to create small intimate objects made with typical model making materials in this way they explore the scale model as sculptural object. Bevin also uses the models to make large scale replicas by utilising the scale model in its conventional  role as a tool. However these are not maquette’s and their functional role is no longer the main priority within the work. Similarly, Bevin’s concern is not what the sculptures depict but more about their interplay with scale and each other.
Drawing is an essential part of Bevin’s work, drawings form the basis of her ongoing research into
home and memory.
