Artist Statement

I am intrigued by materials and how I can explore their properties and transformative qualities. Drawing on the relationship between the real and the fabricated, I use everyday materials to create objects that become imbued with power and suggestive of their own unique history. Creating their own narratives, authenticity and value they propose an anthropological or historical reading. Recent work has explored Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, the direct translation is 'to give life to flowers'.
