Kirsty Pemberton
Kirsty Pemberton makes her paintings with generous additions of textural mediums, layering paint to create sculptural works. The paintings' edges reveal the history of each work, and a meticulous and labour intensive making process. Kirsty titles each painting as she finishes it, naming it after somebody she feels connected to.
Pemberton has had work included in exhibitions across the North West, over the last five years. Her work has been shown previously at Manchester Contemporary, as well as at Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool; Buzz Hub, St Helens; and Abingdon Studios, Blackpool. She is currently showing work as part of a public art commission in Blackpool, and has an upcoming collaborative project with Jason Wilsher-Mills MBE.
Pemberton is an artist with the pARTnership, which is a creative and professional development project bringing together people with and without a learning disability.
