Holly Stevenson

SLQS Gallery x Art Elsewhere Stand: 111
Holly Stevenson (b. Norfolk) makes psychologically charged bodily sculptures that directly explore women’s lives
and the process of representing the female. “Ceramic and psychoanalytic processes enmesh within Stevenson’s
artworks, and the resulting idiosyncratic forms play with associations trapped between mind and bodily matters.”
She graduated from Glasgow University in 2001 and went on to gain a Fine Art MA in 2011 from Chelsea College
of Art and Design; her work has since been shown internationally.

In 2022 Stevenson received her first public sculpture commission, Another Mother, from theCOLAB for The
Artist’s Garden. In 2023 she exhibited The Debate at Frieze Sculpture, an installation that reinterpreted the
symbolic egg and was accompanied by an egg-citing performance involving the audience eating vegan eggs. In
2025, as the founding Freud Artist Resident at the Jane McAdam Freud Estate, she held the ACE-funded
exhibition Tracing the Irretraceable at the Freud Museum London.

In 2026 her work has been exhibited in the following institutional exhibitions: Living Labyrinths: Art & Fungi,
RAMM, Exeter (until 21/02/27); Folia, Ömer Koç Collection, Abdülmecid Efendi Mansion, Istanbul; Drawing
Biennial 2026, Drawing Room, London; and Domestic Displacement, MAC Ludovico Corrao, Gibellina, Italy. In
November 2026 her installation Love Bomb will be seen in Ecstasy and the Aftermath at the Sainsbury Centre.
