Based in Shropshire, Belle is a contemporary abstract painter whose practice centers on the physical evolution of surface. Working primarily in acrylics on large canvas's, she builds up and scrapes back multiple layers of paint to explore the rich interplay of colour and texture, often accentuating her work with vibrant pops of oil pastel and metallic paint. Her contemporary palette is constantly moving forward and this year is deeply influenced by the heat of the summer and cosmic starbursts.   Having trained at Central St Martins while working in London’s TV marketing sector, Belle now paints full-time. Her large layered, immersive canvases invite viewers into a subjective world, prompting unique personal interpretations where forms constantly emerge and dissolve.
