Stuart Wilson is an artist based in Oxfordshire. His work explores memory, absence and the passage of time, particularly the gradual loss of what can no longer be accessed — fading memories, places that have changed or disappeared and people who were once present in our lives. Working predominantly with paint and mixed materials, surfaces are built up, disrupted and partially obscured. Earlier marks and forms remain visible as traces and fragments, suggesting something that was once more complete but can no longer be fully recovered.
