Damian Willett
Stand: 803
){kind=logo}
Damian lives and works in Brighton, in the South East of England. His paintings look to capture states of transition and flux, residual forms that appear exposed to change and chance.
His technique for painting is unconventional and involves layers of paint being impressed upon one another, each layer a response to the previous. Shapes and patterns can accumulate or recede as the painting develops, creating a rich strata of texture and colour.
The end result is more geological than gestural and creates a sense of luminosity, the subtlety of the mark-making drawing the viewer in to take a closer look at these culminations of colour and texture.
Since graduating from art college in Exeter, Damian’s career as both a photographer and graphic designer has enabled him to draw on the two practices to influence his use of composition, light and form within his art.
Damian’s paintings have featured in World of Interiors and he has exhibited at The Other Art Fair. His work has been bought and commissioned by private collectors and interior designers and is held in collections within the UK and around the globe.
