Karin’s paintings explore an emotional connection to nature - whether tranquillity and calm or energy and rejuvenation. The way light falls, the vastness and lines created by open spaces, changing seasons and weather, provide her with the visual stimulation exploring what it means to be human.
Her approach is experimental and energetic. Working in series and with multiple layers, she aims to reveal the rawness of the landscape by using strong value contrasts, variations in texture, fluctuating amounts of detail, a limited colour palette and free mark making to reflect the light, mood and wonder of a place.
Her work can be seen at the Flint Gallery in Norfolk, at Hadfield Fine Art near Cheltenham, Saltbox Gallery in Helmsley and the Haydon Gallery in Marlow. Karin has been selected to exhibit by the Society of Women Artists and ING Discerning Eye at the Mall Galleries in London.
Karin accepts private commissions.
