Working with encaustic wax, oils, pigments and mixed media, she builds richly layered, atmospheric surfaces through heating, scraping, fracturing and working back. Her inspiration comes from fleeting moments when weather, light and changing conditions reveal something unexpected – subtle colours, reflections, shadows and the marks left by time.

Allowing materials to gather, resist and react in unpredictable ways, Lindsey creates the conditions for something to reveal itself. Her resulting works are discovered rather than simply designed.

Her practice has recently expanded into three dimensions with Wildscapes, a collection of landscape-inspired sculptural forms that carry this fascination with material, atmosphere and texture into new territory.
