Celebrating 10 Years of Creative Futures

Situated in a city renowned for its vibrant creative scene, the Visual Arts Department at The Manchester College supports students from across Greater Manchester, including some of the UK’s most economically challenged communities.

In partnership with Manchester Art Gallery, our flagship initiative Creative Futures has, for a decade, nurtured artistic development, career progression, and a strong creative community. Through mentorship, hands-on projects, and professional workshops, we equip students with the skills and experience to thrive in the creative industries.

Based at the state-of-the-art City Campus Manchester, students enjoy an inspiring art school setting with industry-standard facilities across ceramics, jewellery, printmaking, fashion & textiles, 3D design, and more—alongside our striking triple-height open-plan studio.

Since 2021, Creative Futures has shone a spotlight on the Rutherston Loans Collection (RLC), connecting today’s learners and communities with this significant cultural resource.

Now, returning to the Manchester Contemporary Art Fair, we proudly celebrate 10 years of partnership with a special focus on our students, staff, and alumni—showcasing emerging talent and extending the legacy of Creative Futures.

10 years of creativity, collaboration, and impact.
