I’m a British artist based on the Suffolk coast, and my latest body of work explores the idea of doorways as portals into other worlds. I combine painted doorways and arches with animals, vintage book covers and fragments of old stories, creating scenes that feel familiar but slightly out of place.
The animals act as gatekeepers, inviting you to wonder what lies beyond the doorway and where the story might lead. I’m drawn to old books, faded places and the feeling of discovering something unexpected, and I use colour, texture and a slightly nostalgic feel to bring these imagined places to life.
The work is playful and atmospheric, but ultimately it’s about curiosity, escape and the stories we create for ourselves when we look beyond the obvious.
