Based in the Hampshire countryside in UK. Rachel’s artwork is varied and instinctive. Working with oils she draws on photographs, sketches and memories based on her time in nature and the impact of seasons on her daily life. Summers spent on the beaches in West Sussex and Cornwall. Spring working on restoring her garden originally designed by the talented Gertrude Jekyll. Autumn and Winter sky watching reflecting on memories of the landscape of her childhood home on the North Yorkshire Moors or the vast Northumberland coastline of her ancestors.
The artwork whilst abstract in nature mirrors a love of light and a desire to connect to landscape in all its ephemeral beauty, often reflective of life events.
Rachel has previously exhibited in galleries in the South East and London and a number of Art Fairs across the UK having previously been at Manchester Art Fair and The Other Art Fair. She often works to commission for individuals and interior designers and has artwork in private collections both at home and abroad including a commercial project in London featured on TV. She is a graduate of Newlyn Art School mentoring programme, has an MA in Fine Art from Chichester University and a Foundation Diploma from West Dean College.
