Susan McCall, artist, lives and works in the Peak District of Derbyshire, UK. She exhibits regularly and hosts a Derbyshire Open Arts event at her studio in Hayfield.
She has work in the National Collection, corporate offices and private collections both nationally and internationally.
After teaching for many years Susan gained a Rootstein Hopkins Award for painting. She now devotes her time to work in her studio developing her own practice as well as taking on community and private commissions and workshops at Charleston Farm, East Sussex and Tate Liverpool.
The dynamic and rich oil paintings are an expression of the feeling of being in a place at a time, of the experience of the elements - light and space, colour and texture, the dramatic effects of natural light and atmospheric changes - and of pure pleasure in paint.
