Manchester Art Fair regular J R Oatts is one of 48 artists who taking part in this summer's Music for the Senses trail in Manchester.

The abstract artist's hand-painted guitar, currently on show in the window of Forsyth Music Shop at 126 Deansgate, is inspired by the music, colours and industrial heritage of Manchester.

From now to 31st August, creative producers Wild in Art have brought an exciting art trail to the city featuring artworks, exhibitions, and installations that honour the people, places, moments, and instruments that shape the city’s iconic music scene.

You can download a map of all the 60+ painted guitars, donated guitars, installations, murals and pop up spaces on the Music for the Senses website or by downloading the Music for the Senses app (Google Play & Apple).

In September, the guitars will be on show together at People’s History Museum, Manchester from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th September 2025. Shortly after, the guitars will then be auctioned to raise money to support grassroots music projects and venues throughout Forever Manchester, in collaboration with Manchester Music City.
