Chiara Camoni has been selected to represent Italy at the 2026 Venice Biennale, making her one of the most significant voices in her generation of Italian art. Born in Piacenza in 1974 and trained in sculpture at the Brera Academy, Camoni’s practice spans drawing, video, ceramics and installation. She sources raw materials from nature — earth, ashes, herbs and flowers — infusing her glazed terracotta, stoneware and plant-based prints with a sense of the organic, the ritual and the ancestral. finestresullarte.info

Her work centres on themes of time, metamorphosis, disappearance and collective authorship. She explores how forms persist, fade or mutate, drawing on archaeological precedents and spiritual gestures while questioning the contemporary art world’s fixation on visibility and instant impact. Often collaborative, her pieces reflect shared labour and collective making rather than solitary genius.
