Double Award Success for Lindsey Tyson at Materiality 2
BDR Group Purchase award and Little Buckland Gallery exhibition award
Scarborough-based abstract artist Lindsey Tyson is celebrating double award success following her participation in Materiality 2, a major contemporary art exhibition at The Handbag Factory in London.

Selected as one of 80 artists for the exhibition, Lindsey received the BDR Group Purchase Award, with one of her paintings acquired for the company's collection. She was also awarded a place in a curated group exhibition at Little Buckland Gallery in the Cotswolds in 2027.

Working intuitively with encaustic wax, plaster, pigments and mixed media, Lindsey creates richly textured abstract paintings inspired by landscape, erosion and the traces left by time. Her process embraces experimentation, allowing materials to interact in unexpected ways, creating surfaces that invite closer exploration.

The recognition comes at an exciting time as Lindsey continues to develop her material-led practice, exploring new possibilities in both painting and three-dimensional work.

Visitors to Manchester Art Fair 2026 will have the opportunity to discover her work and meet the artist in November.
